As technology advances rapidly and digitalization becomes a cornerstone for both organizations and individuals, the legal system must evolve to address the challenges posed by these developments. Consequently, there has been a significant rise in cases involving cyber law and information technology, as well as an increasing reliance on digital evidence in court proceedings.

The second edition of *Foong’s Malaysia Cyber, Electronic Evidence and Information Technology Law* provides an authoritative and updated exploration of this dynamic legal landscape. The author has thoroughly revised the content to reflect the latest developments in the law, ensuring that each major chapter offers valuable insights into digital-related legal issues.

Key updates in this edition include:

- Two new chapters: Privacy and data protection, and software.
- Expanded defamation section: Now includes discussions on anonymous publishers, tracing anonymous individuals, and the use of interim injunctions to prevent defamatory actions.
- Revised digital assets section: Covers non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and additional cryptocurrency-related cases.
- Updated remote communication technology section: Includes Order 33A of the Rules of Court 2012 and the recent case *Karen Yap Chew Ling v Binary Group Services Bhd.*
- Enhanced substituted service section: Now addresses electronic communication, actions against unknown individuals, self-identification orders, and the use of social media in family disputes.
- Updated cybercrime chapter: Includes offences like online streaming, stalking, and public mischief, along with updates on fake news and sexual grooming cases.
