Currently, Malaysia does not have a dedicated statute governing landlord and tenant relationships. The legal framework is partly found in the National Land Code 1965 (applicable only in Peninsular Malaysia) and partly in an expanding body of case law from both Malaysia and other common law jurisdictions.
